Film and Television Director, Film Producer, International Development Professional (M.A. in Science of Film, University of Lund, Sweden) with over 40 years of filmmaking. Produced and directed 56 international documentaries, 7 feature films for theatrical release and television – mostly produced in Latin America, but also in Asia and Africa.

 

Received Swedish Academy Award for Best Director (together with Åsa Faringer) and also ten international awards for "The Daughter of the Puma" - a Swedish-Danish-Mexican co-production, starring Elpidia Carillo and Angeles Cruz, financed by, among others, international donors. Among all international awards is the European Community Award, Prix Iris for Best European Documentary, for "Black is beautiful?", in competion with 130 entries from 25 European countries. His films have been shown in 43 countries: for example, "Black Pimpernel" (together with Åsa Faringer) – an international Swedish-Danish-Mexican co-production starring Michael Nyqvist, Lumi Cavazos, Kate Del Castillo, Lisa Werlinder, Daniel Giménez, Carsten Norgaard, Cristián Campos and Patrick Bergin in an international cinema release. "The Art of Killing a Politician," (director, co-producer together with Åsa Faringer), a feature-length documentary about Sandra Torres, presidential candidate in Guatemala, will have its international cinema release in 2015. Produced The Price of Life (directed by Åsa Faringer) - A documentary long film about Sara Lindman, Swedish writer. International cinema release 2018.

  • Produced a hundred TV-programs for SVT (Swedish Television), often as international co-productions, a number of which were about international affairs. As Executive Producer, initiated Nordic co-productions sponsored by The Nordic Council and Public TV stations, etc.

  • Writer of numerous publications for children, as well as both poetry and fiction.

  • Managing Director of Original Film AB (Ltd) - founded in1970.

  • International Development Professional with experience and specialization in identification, formulation, administration and evaluation of projects in social communication and human aid projects in the global south. Publicizing the UN's Convention on the Rights of the Child in mass media.

  • Managing Director for Swedish Save the Children in Mexico City, serving Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua.

  • Initiator of continental seminars in Latin America, systematizing sharing of experiences of incorporating mass media in human aid work, in Regional Seminars of Communication and Mass Media. Also initiated continental seminars of national fundraising,(Regional Fundraising Seminars).

  • Publicized the Convention of the Rights of the Child, initiating extensive projects in the region, incorporating all mass media, above all TV.

  • Managed international donations to street children, refugees, disabled persons, etc. Also of note is the emphasis with psychosocial work with children and families, victims of war, institutional development and women’s participation.

  • Extensive experience of fundraising and donor complexity. Implemented new models for organization and administration and expanded the small regional office to the major office of the organization.
