Åsa Faringer
Film Director, Script Writer, Producer
Born in Stockholm, Sweden. Active as director, producer and scriptwriter since 1989 with feature long film and documentary film for cinema and TV.
Currently writing a script for feature longfilm at Original Film AB with support from The Swedish Film Institute.
Swedish Academy Award/Guldbagge for Best Director.
Teaching film directing and scriptwriting.
Studied as Film Director at the Film School in Mexico City (Centro de Capacitación Cinematografica – CCC). University degree in Spanish language and literature at the University of Mexico City (UNAM). Studied script writing for film and theatre at the Biskops Arnö folkhögskola. Science of theatre (Teatervetenskap) at the University of Stockholm. Several courses in acting and drama.
